Architectural plans include a renovation of the Collegio Carlo Alberto as well as an expansion of the spaces and services available, including the addition of a residential building. The group of professionals responsible for these plans are headed by prof. Guido Canali of Parma and includes the architects Luca and Marina Deabate and the engineers Favero and Milan, Francesco Canali and the Studio Prodim.

The overall objective is to create a college atmosphere, where research and teaching activities involving more than 300 faculty, researchers, doctoral and masters degree students are conducted. The original building will host offices, classrooms, common rooms, a library and documentation centre and a cafeteria. Residential services will be housed in a new building and ample parking space will be created. The plans incorporate the commitment towards recognising and preserving the Collegio’s historical heritage, together with its furnishings and artistic and scientific collections.
